Tips on How to Apply Makeup to Cover Up the Marks on Your Skin Flawlessly

We all have those embarrassing marks on our face, old acne scars, or blemishes, dark spots, age spots and the like. And while we can work at getting rid of them in between we can work at covering them up until they are gone. Here are some tips for applying makeup to make it look as natural as possible.
There's an art to applying makeup so that it looks natural and beautiful. Many women do not take the time to really apply their makeup properly and so the result sometimes can be somewhat astonishing, to put it mildly. Surely at some point in time you must of come across one or two people who looked like they were off to some Halloween party in the middle of May or something like that because their makeup was painted on too thick. Too much makeup clogs the pores which can result in breakouts and other skin problems.
When it comes to makeup, the most important factor is choosing the right color that is suited to your complexion.
Makeup is not supposed to hide the natural beauty of your skin tone but rather to complement it and give it that overall natural beautiful look while hiding any blemishes you might want to go overlooked. Your makeup and your skin tone should blend well together.
Choose a foundation that's right for your skin tone and also one that is closest to your skin type. You know the drill oily, dry, combination and sensitive skin. Foundations come in many formulas such as Liquids, Creams and Powder. They all contain various ingredients so be sure and check the labels to ensure that you get the one that is the most suitable to your skin type. Before applying makeup to your face test a small patch on the inside of your elbow, wipe it off and monitor the area for twenty four hours.
Afterward if there is no ill reaction then you're most likely not going to suffer from an allergic reaction to the brand.
Foundation should be applied to a fresh clean face. Apply a little bit of foundation on different areas of your face, and massage gently onto the skin using a damp sponge. You may also apply foundation to the skin while it is still damp just after you have finished washing it. This ensures that the foundation is spread out evenly over the face. Don't forget to include the jaw line when applying foundation. Once you are satisfied that your foundation looks flawless and natural, covering all the marks on your face, you can proceed to the next step of applying your blush, lipstick and eye makeup.
At the end of the day, always be sure to remove all traces of your makeup from your skin. If you leave it on overnight then your makeup can begin to clog your pores and will do damage to your skin like cause breakouts or blemishes. Always use a mild cleanser designed for the face, never regular bar soap as this will dry out your skin and, you guessed it cause more skin problems.

Using Airbrush Makeup Kits to Apply the Perfect Tan

Did you know that Airbrush Makeup kits are not only great at applying makeup but can also apply the perfect fake tan? Because of the unique delivery system, you can ensure a perfectly even tan that looks completely natural and can last for more than two weeks.
For most Airbrush Makeup users, all that is needed is to get a new airbrush and some tanning solution. The compressor should be compatible with almost every brand of tanning solution, but it is worth checking this out beforehand. If you plan to do this on a regular basis or are considering doing this professionally then it is a good idea to make sure that you have quite a powerful compressor or else the process of applying the fake tan will be very slow and clients could become frustrated with how long it takes to apply the tan.
Once you are all set up, it is very simple to apply the tan.
If you have ever applied airbrush makeup then it will be very easy but it should be easy for almost everyone. One thing you need to be careful of is to make sure that you don't hold the airbrush too close or else the tan could start to run and you will get an uneven distribution.
These days, it is easier than ever for everyday users to apply their tan in this way. With airbrush makeup kits becoming cheaper by the day, more and more every day users are buying kits to apply both makeup and fake tan in the comfort of their own homes.

Face and Makeup Beauty Tips

Makeup has been around for centuries; even Cleopatra in ancient Egypt decorated her face. Women throughout history have regarded makeup as essential. Make up does not do magic, it only enhances the beauty that you already have.
Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, a career woman, a teenager, or a doting grandmother, here are some makeup and beauty tips for you.
Exercise and Diet
Naturally, you need to take care of your body in order to have that healthy glowing skin. Exercise and proper diet is still required. The stress that your body feels can be very much reflected on your face, so make sure to de-stress yourself. Hydration is also important, drink more than the required 8 glasses of water a day.
Follow a skin care regimen. The simplest is the 3-step method: cleanse, tone and moisturize.
Cleansing
Cleansing is the most fundamental step in facial care.
It gets rid of the dirt your face has accumulated during the day and old makeup. Cleansers come in the form of creams or lotions. Get the one that is perfect for your skin type. Never use ordinary soap as a cleanser. It has ingredients that may be harsh on your skin.
Toner
After cleaning your face, use a toner. It gets rid of residual dirt from your make up and the environment. In addition, it can help hydrate, revitalize and balance the pH of your skin.
Moisturize
The final step is moisturizing. Moisturizers keep the skin from drying out by rehydrating it. Before buying these products, make sure to read the label and stay away from products with chemicals that may damage your skin.
Note: Since cleanliness is an integral part of skin care, make sure that your brushes and sponges are clean before you apply cosmetics to your face.
Brushes and sponges can be cleaned with your regular shampoo. Also, do not use expired cosmetics - keep track of their expiration dates.
After you have completed these three steps, here are a few simple tricks to help you put on your make up and enhance the natural beauty within you.
Start by applying cosmetic foundation over your face.
Eyes
Unless you are going to a party, bare minimum is the best. You can even get away with just applying mascara to make your eyes fuller. Nevertheless, if you insist on putting on an eye shadow, go with the browns. Make sure that your eyebrows are well groomed. It gives a more polished look. To help you camouflage those dark circles around the eyes, dab on a small amount of concealer makeup, but not too much to avoid that cakey look.
Lips
If you want a long wearing lip color, try this quick tip: Outline your lips with a lip liner that is a shade darker than your lipstick. Next fill it up with your lipstick starting from the middle going out. The last touch would be the lipgloss. Just like the lipstick, apply it from the center and avoid putting it on the corners of your lip to avoid smudging. Now, you have that sexy pouty lip.
Adding a bit of cheek color/tint (stick blush) is the last and final step.

A Few Makeup Tips For Teenagers

Today being a teenager brings about many pressures especially if you are a girl. Aside from the fact that teenagers have to deal with rigorous academic subjects, the pressure from society and peers to look good adds more stress to teenage life. Media hype in maintaining good looks is everywhere from television, to the Internet and on the covers of magazines.
If you are a teenage girl, there is no harm in experimenting with your looks. You need to learn as early as you can because someday you may have to deal with cosmetics on a daily basis. You just need to be acquainted with a couple of tips in applying makeup and develop a basic daily routine to keep that beautiful face as healthy as possible.
Face and makeup - lightly
Important things to remember in applying makeup to your face are: be minimal and be fresh. The more natural the better, as if there is no makeup on your face at all.
Do not overdo it. Leave the clown faces in the circus!
More and more cosmetic companies are targeting youth. Most of their products are designed for delicate skin. Before you buy those make up kits, try looking for hypoallergenic products, just in case you have allergies. These types of products will spare you from irritation. Likewise, non-comedogenic products are best for young skin because they do not clog pores and can reduce the outbreak of acne.
For school days, keep your makeup light. A dash of color on the cheeks and a little lip tint will give the effect of a naturally glowing skin. Try light pink shades for a start. Some teens prefer to apply eye liners, however eye liners will make you appear much older. If you must, avoid the black shade and go for the browns.
During parties, you may want to jazz it up a little bit.
Here are some makeup beauty tips:
- For better coverage, use a cosmetic foundation. Apply it evenly on your face. Make sure to choose a shade darker than your skin tone not lighter. You don't want to look like a kabuki!
- Your eyebrows should be well trimmed. A well polished eyebrow will definitely give you a more elegant look.
- For your eyes, use a lighter shade (white or cream) to apply from the lid to the brow. With a darker shade of brown or golden brown, from the inner lid to the upper lid until you reach the crease line. Blend it well.
- Use a dark brown pencil for eye makeup liner. Apply it by tracing your upper lid and finish off by smudging it with a cotton bud.
- Now for the finishing touches, apply mascara, a bit of blush to your cheeks and your favorite lipstick.
If you want to have a shimmering effect, you can apply glitter face makeup for your face and body.
After enjoying the night, remember to take off the makeup. Follow the 3 step facial care regimen: Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing, to keep you face healthy and blemish free.

Quick Tip for Night-Time Makeup

If you're going out & you want to look fabulous, just remember this simple tip: Either play up your eyes or your mouth, never both. If you accentuate both features, you risk looking dated (remember the 80s?), harsh & artificial.

If you choose to play up your eyes, you can be as dramatic as you want with eyeliner, shadow & mascara. But stick to gloss or a light lipstick shade for your lips. You want your eyes to 'pop.' But you don't want them competing with your lips.

If it's your lips you want to accentuate, paint on a strong shade & line just your upper lashes with a couple strokes of mascara to finish your eyes. If your eyelids have bluish lines, you can mask that with face powder or concealer, but stay away from colored shadows -- the lighter, the better.

How to Apply Eye Makeup in 8 Steps

When evening calls for a glamorous look, you want to focus on making your eyes amazing. Here's how to apply eye makeup in only 8 steps.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 10 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Prep your eyes with concealer Concealer can be used to cover up under-eye circlesor just the bluish discoloration just under your inner eye. To cover dark undereye circles, apply three dots of concealer under each eye. Start at the inner corner where skin tends to be darkest, then under the pupil and the third on the outer edge. Pat, never rub with your ring finger (this finger tends to have the softest pad) until it disappears.
  2. Apply eye base to your lid Eye base is the secret to keeping your shadow in place for hours. Without properly priming your lid first, your eyeshadow will likely end up a greasy line in your crease.
  3. Follow with eyeliner Dark eyeshadows work great as eyeliners. Wet a slanted brush, then dip in a dark eyeshadow. Line eyes as close to the upper lashes as possible from the inner corner to the outer corner. Follow with liner on bottom eyes, but only line from the middle of the eye out. Smudge the bottom line with a Q-tip or your finger. You don't want a prominent line. For asmokey eye, use a brush to pat in a dark eyeshadow along the upper lid and below the lid. You don't want a stark line, instead you want to blend it so it's "smudge-y."
  4. Apply eyeshadowIt's great to use a three-toned shadow and build from lids to brow (see How to apply eyeshadow). Allowing them to blend into each other like a rainbow is gorgeous, according to celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal. Start with a light color that almost matches your lid. Sweep the color across the lid and up to your browbone. Follow with a medium color across your lid only. Build on this with a darker color in the crease. Blend the colors well.
  5. Brighten your eyes with a highlighter This step involves only the inside part of the eye. Putting a bit of your lightest eyeshadow in the inner corner of your eye will brighten it significantly (this is the makeup artist's secret and I use this trick all the time). I usually dab a finger into my lightest eyeshadow and then I press it into the inner corner of my eye where the upper lid meets the bottom lid. This totally makes eyes "pop."
  6. Highlight your brow Take the same light eyeshadow and dab it on your browbone, concentrating on your mid-brow outward. Blend with your finger. I like to use Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat just below my brow and just above it, but a super light shadow will do you.
  7. Curl lashes An eyelash curler will make even long lashes look more gorgeous. For added effect, you can heat the curler under a blowdryer for a couple seconds. Test curler before applying to lashes because you could burn yourself.
  8. Apply mascara Place the wand of your mascara brush at the bottom of lashes and wiggle back and forth. Follow with another few sweeps of the wand. Apply to bottom lashes as well. See How to apply mascara for step-by-step instruction and extra tips.
